The Georgina Grace Trust was founded in 2005 following the birth of Georgina Grace Thompson, who was born with CMV (Cytomegalovirus), had a stroke at birth (which left her with only 50% of her brain remaining in tact). She is also registered blind and has epilepsy.
The extensive care that both Georgina Grace and her family are receiving has promoted her parents to seek a way to repay those involved with her care. Thus the Georgina Grace Trust was founded.
The Georgina Grace Trust aims to help existing organisations that work with disabled and special needs children throughout Yorkshire and the Humber. This is done through the provision of additional equipment, resources and financial assistance.
At present, the Georgina Grace Trust is helping:
| The Child Development Centre – York District Hospital | |
| City of York Portage Service | |
| Action for Children – May Lodge, Scarborough | |
It is the desire of the Georgina Grace Trust to raise as much money as possible to support these worthy causes and does so through arranging a number of high profile events each year.
